An Open House and Dedication Ceremony was held on Saturday, July 27, 2002 with dignitaries from Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indiana who were involved with the construction of the lodge. Rev. Dailey began with a welcome and opening prayer. Bob quoted scripture from 1 Timothy 6:18-19 "That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life." And Matthew 13:44-45 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls." Bob declared the lodge "A Foundation for the Future."
Our own Gordon Douglas is Chairman of the Bedford Camp Committee and spoke about the construction of the camp and the many volunteer man hours it has taken to paint the lodge. He claims over 500 volunteer hours went in to help with the painting alone.

Carolyn Reed, Associate Regional Minister Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indiana, was there explaining her part with the camps in the area. She was pleased to see such a beautiful lodge sitting on the banks of the White River in Southern Indiana.
Les Galbraith, Associate Regional Minister Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indiana, spoke about the regional capital campaign he oversees. He presented a check to the church for over $10,000 to help with the expenses of the lodge.
Rollie Pfile, Associate Regional Minister Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indiana, spoke about his position with Stonebelt Area Disciples churches.
Mike McClintock, Project Supervisor of Edwards-Rigdon Construction Company spoke about how easy it has been to build the lodge. He said how easy and quick it is to get a question answered without having to wait for a committee answer.
The audience sang "Pass It On" and "They'll Know We Are Christians by Our Love" and read the Litany of Dedication. Leila Dailey then closed the ceremony with her Benediction prayer.
